Guide to Historical Data Analysis

Historical Data Analysis (HDA) module stores traffic speed data for further offline analysis.

HDA APIs allows to set different strategies in re-using Flows data.

In particular you can manage these use cases:

  • Historical Data Analysis: By storing traffic speed data, traffic managers can examine historical trends and patterns, to understand long-term traffic behaviour and to identify recurring congestion points.
  • Performance Evaluation: The traffic management authorities can evaluate the effectiveness of implemented traffic management strategies by comparing historical data before and after the implementation of new measures.
  • Incident Analysis: The stored data can provide insights into the conditions leading up to the incident, to improve response strategies and preventing future occurrences.
  • Policy Making: The policymakers can use historical traffic data to make informed decisions about infrastructure development, traffic regulations, and urban planning.
  • Research and Development: The stored data can be used for various studies related to traffic flow, congestion management, and transportation efficiency.
  • Optimization of Traffic Signals: By analysing historical traffic speed data, traffic signal timings can be optimized to improve flow and reduce congestion.
  • Environmental Impact Studies: The stored traffic data can be used to assess the environmental impact of traffic congestion, such as emissions and fuel consumption, and to develop strategies to mitigate these effects.
  • Enhanced Analysis: Facilitate detailed historical data analysis to support better decision-making for customers.
  • Future Evolutions: Prepare for future integration with network visualization tools by storing network data from the outset.
